Take Action to Reduce Single-Use Plastic Bottles in CA

By

California’s legislative session is in full swing and the Surfrider Foundation is advocating for several important bills that would significantly reduce plastic pollution.

Please take a moment to sign this action alert, then call your Assemblymember and ask for their vote!

AB 2648 would reduce single-use beverage bottle usage by state agencies and encourage beverage refill stations. Friday (tomorrow) is the deadline for bills to pass out of where they originated (in this case, the Assembly). We need your help to ensure AB 2648 will continue to advance in the legislative process.

Find your representative HERE (please call their Sacramento office). Then leave a message using the script below as a template:

Hello, my name is [NAME] and I am a constituent of [Rep.'s Name]. [Feel free to add any additional context about why you care, why plastic pollution is a huge problem, etc.] I am in strong support of AB 2648 to reduce single-use plastic beverage bottles by state agencies. I hope we can count on [Rep's Name] to support these critical bills. Thank you.

A plastic-free future is possible, but we need everyone to work together to make this a reality. Thank you for adding your voice to help protect what we love - our ocean, waves, and beaches.
