ActCoastal // October Hearing Report and Victories!

  • A seawall for beach access and saving our coast - this time in Solana Beach!
  • And more good news from Solana Beach - In a win for beach access and coastal preservation, the California Court of Appeal for the 4th Appellate District issued a ruling in favor of the California Coastal Commission (“Commission”), City of Solana Beach and Surfrider Foundation, a mere week after hearing the case. Full blog here!
  • Media outlets publish an expose on progressive sea level rise planning in Imperial Beach, "...very little has been done by coastal cities to confront this slow-moving catastrophe. That is what makes Imperial Beach so interesting. Here, at the southernmost beach town in California, in an obscure corner of the United States, one small city is asking: What if we just got out of nature’s way?"
  • ActCoastal's October hearing report was recently published. And boy was it a busy meeting! Check out the vote charts and some great victories - here!
