With so much happening over the last few weeks, we've clipped a few of the highlights, here -
The fight against offshore oil drilling continues!
Unless you’ve been hiding under a rock the past few years, you know that the Trump administration is proposing new offshore oil drilling in over 90% of U.S. waters. While a final decision is likely a year away, there has been a flurry of recent developments that have a direct bearing on the issue. Many of these are positive but it’s critical that we continue to fight as the fate of our coasts hangs in the balance. Click here for more!
We are working fast and furious to encourage business owners to join the Business Alliance for Protecting the Pacific Coast. Over 2,500 West Coast companies from industries such as recreation, tourism, fishing, and real estate that are opposed to offshore drilling off the Pacific coast have already joined. If you know anyone why may be interested, sign them up! https://defendthepacific.org/
Also, a new bill was introduced into congress - "Named the Coastal and Marine Economies Protection Act, the legislation calls for a permanent and complete ban on offshore drilling and seismic testing in both regions." Here's a little more information - stay tuned!
Oh AND, the federal threats continue - this time the attack is on the Clean Water Act and protections for our last remaining wetlands. Here's more information and please sign the action alert today!
